High Threat Security Alert (A21-09-11): Vulnerability in Microsoft Edge (Chromium-based)

Description:

Microsoft released a security update to address a vulnerability in Microsoft Edge (Chromium-based).  A remote attacker could entice a user to open a web page with specially crafted content on a vulnerable browser to exploit the vulnerability.

Reports indicate that the vulnerability (CVE-2021-30632) is being exploited in the wild.  You are advised to take immediate action to patch your affected systems to mitigate the elevated risk of cyber attacks.

Affected Systems:

• Microsoft Edge (Chromium-based) prior to version 93.0.961.47

Impact:

A successful exploitation could lead to arbitrary code execution, denial of service or security restriction bypass on an affected system.

Recommendation:

Users of affected systems should update Microsoft Edge (Chromium-based) to version 93.0.961.47 or later to address the issue.
