The Government is committed to developing a digital economy and promoting efficient flow of data, leveraging Hong Kong’s advantages to complement national development and integrate into the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area. Technological reforms brought by data-driven applications and the rise of big data and artificial intelligence is indeed reshaping Hong Kong’s technological landscape and inevitably impacting on the cybersecurity ecosystem. The Government Computer Emergency Response Team Hong Kong (GovCERT.HK) has been endeavoring to strengthen the cybersecurity measures and awareness of the community through various aspects, targeting the public, enterprises and government departments with an aim to fortify the cybersecurity defense line for protecting Hong Kong from external cyberattacks.
GovCERT.HK is an operational member of the Asia Pacific Computer Emergency Response Team (APCERT). APCERT is a coalition of Computer Emergency Response Teams (CERTs) and Computer Security Incident Response Teams (CSIRTs) within the Asia Pacific region. It maintains a trusted network of cyber security experts in the Asia Pacific region to enhance the region’s vigilance against malicious cyber activities and its overall capability to detect, prevent and mitigate such activities.
